More than 600 Soldiers from the St. Paul-based 34th Combat Aviation Brigade (34th CAB) are returning from a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Soldiers are returning in two groups.

On Tuesday, May 12, the first group consisting of more than 100 Soldiers arrived at Volk Field, Wis. They will spend five to seven days in Wisconsin undergoing post-deployment processing before returning to Minnesota to reunite with their families.

Elements of 34th CAB deployed as the command element of Task Force 34 and served as the Multi-National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I) Corps Aviation Brigade conducting full spectrum aviation operations throughout Iraq. Task Force 34 provided a stable and secure environment allowing the Iraqi National Government the ability to assume more responsibility for the security and governmental functions of Iraq.
