Introduction
Space Available Flight, also known as Space A or military hops, is a unique privilege provided to servicemembers, retirees and their families. Under the Space-Available (Space A) program, eligible passengers can fill unused seats on DoD-owned or controlled aircraft once all the space-required (duty) passengers and cargo have been accommodated. |
Eligibility
Category I - Emergency travel on a round-trip basis in connection with serious illness, death, or impending death of a member of the immediate family
Category II - Environmental Morale Leave (EML)
Category III - Ordinary leave
Category IV - Unaccompanied dependents on EML
Category V - Permissive Temporary Duty and students
