Interested individuals worldwide can receive personalized support from a team of experienced Higher Education advisors and counselors – seven days a week.

SERVICES PROVIDED:  Higher education services from Minnesota public and private colleges and universities, and military education support thru-
  • Academic and career counseling for those undecided and those with specific areas of interest and assistance.
  • Educational advising on program availability, admissions, transfer, and financial aid processes, transcription procedures, and getting started on line or at-campus.
  • Assessment and testing coordination (Accuplacer, Compass, SAT, ACT, course tests).
  • “Warm transfers” to a specialist on military education and benefits, and to specific staff at public and private colleges and universities of interest.
  • Referrals to a “help network” addressing personal, family, and other issues.

Minnesota Online makes it possible for you to access all the online educational opportunities available from the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. As one of the largest higher education consortia in the U.S., the system consists of 25 two-year colleges and seven state universities.

All Active drilling members of the Minnesota National Guard in good standing receive the following:

ARNG Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA)

Eligibility:

  • Traditional Soldiers and officers of the Army National Guard.

Benefit:

  • The Army National Guard is currently funding Federal Tuition Assistance at 100% of a member's tuition and authorized fees. This is further limited by semester hour/quarter hour caps and annual (fiscal year) limitation.
  • FTA is paid upfront and directly to the school after ADD/DROP date.

State Tuition Reimbursement (STR) Program

Eligibility:

  • Minnesota National Guard Soldiers with rank of E1 to O5, including Warrant Officers.
  • The lifetime maximum STR benefit is 208 quarter or 144 Semester credits.

Benefit:

  • The maximum reimbursement is 100% of the undergraduate tuition rate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities Campus upon successful completion of the coursework.

Members of the Minnesota National Guard that have been Mobilized may apply for the following benefits:

Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP) 1607

Eligibility:

  • Mobilized 90 days or more ordered to active service in response to a war or national emergency declared by the President or the Congress
  • Disabled members who are injured or have an illness or disease incurred or aggravated in the line of duty and are released from active duty before completing 90 consecutive days are also eligible.

Benefit: (effective 1 Oct 05)

  • 40% of the Active Duty MGIB - for 90 consecutive days but less than one continuous year;
  • 60% of the Active Duty MGIB - for one continuous year but less than two continuous years; or
  • 80% of the Active Duty MGIB - for two continuous years or more.

New STR Benefit for Soldiers who have deployed

  • Soldiers who were deployed and now satisfactorily completed their service contract in the Minnesota National Guard can use STR for a period of 2 years plus the deployment time.
  • The lifetime maximum STR benefit is still 208 quarter or 144 Semester credits.
