DESCRIPTION: Newly commissioned 2nd Lt. Nathan Grams of the 834th Signal Battalion is pinned with his new rank by his father Terry August 27, 2006, on the steps of the Minnesota State Capitol. Twenty-two officer candidates were commissioned in a ceremony earlier in the afternoon, and the new officers will attend additional training with the U. S. Army to prepare them for leadership positions within the Minnesota National Guard.
