DESCRIPTION: A little girl helps put up a 'welcome home' poster for one of the Soldiers during a initial welcome home ceremony. Community, friends and family of the 147th Personnel Services Battalion gathered for a Welcome Home Ceremony following the unit’s return from over 12 months of active duty deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom on Feb. 13th at the Roseville Armory in Roseville, Minn. 32 Soldiers from the Roseville based 147th Personnel Services Battalion managed Joint Personnel Reception Centers, Soldier Support Centers and Army Post Offices in Afghanistan and provided Human Resource support to 14 Forward Operating Bases in the countries of Afghanistan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan and Qatar. Such personnel service support missions included: the responsibility to provide briefings to service members arriving to and departing from operational areas, the maintaining of their records, the production of identification cards, the updating Soldier’s family information, the tracking of all incoming and outgoing Soldiers and civilians in operational areas.
