Spc. Miles Eakins
Journalist
Spc. Miles Erich Eakins, 23, served as an Army Public Affairs Specialist for the Minnesota Army National Guard. He brought to the team skill sets in the areas of journalism, photography and graphic design. He worked full-time as a member of Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) and was also attached to JFHQ for his weekend drills. He spent six years as an infantryman in B Co., 2-135 Infantry before switching to public affairs. A native of Lake Orion, Mich., Eakins attended Winona State University for mass communications, specializing in public relations. Eakins also has experience doing public relations, web design and graphic design for the Winona Elite Hockey League and Performance Training. In his free time Eakins is a high school hockey goalie coach and enjoys hockey, golf, traveling and reading.
He has two younger brothers Colin and Liam who live with his father Scott and mother Anette in Rochester, Minn. |
