Obtaining an Age Waiver for the GED Exam.
- Soldiers who need to take the GED exam and are under the age of 19, must
submit an age waiver application to the Minnesota Department of Education
in order to take the exam. This includes those enlisting into the GED Plus
Program.
- To request a GED Age Waiver, the following documents must be submitted to
the Minnesota Department of Education, ATTN: Alice Smith by fax (651.582.8458)
or mail (1500 Highway 36 West, Roseville, MN 55113):
- GED Age Waiver Application.
- Letter on MN
Army National Guard letterhead stating that the applicant will be
accepted for enlistment once he/she has successfully completed the GED
test battery.
- GED Age Waiver applications are typically reviewed and processed within
24 hours.
- Once the age waiver is approved, submit the documentation:
- to education@mn.ngb.army.mil with the Test Request Worksheet
to take the GED exam at the Education Services Office in St. Paul, or
- with packet that accompanies the individual to PEC for the
GED Plus Program.
