SINCE 2001, MORE THAN 25,000 MINNESOTA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERS HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED & SERVED IN MORE THAN 33 COUNTRIES WORLDWIDE.

Current Strength

Nearly
14,000 Soldiers and Airmen in the Minnesota National Guard.
  • More than 11,000 Soldiers.
  • More than 2,000 Airmen.

Available Strength

  • More than 10,000 Soldiers and Airmen are available to provide military support in the State of Minnesota.
More than 450 Minnesota National Guard Soldiers and Airmen are deployed to multiple locations in support of the global war on terrorism.

The Minnesota National Guard has ongoing partnerships with the nations of Norway, Croatia and Canada.

State Active Duty
The Minnesota National Guard, under the direction of the Governor, will provide assistance to civil authorities in response to floods, fires, blizzards and other natural disasters as well as other emergencies.
