Message From The Adjutant General
On behalf of the 13,000 men and women of the Minnesota National Guard, welcome to
www.MinnesotaNationalGuard.org. Soldiers and Airmen in the Minnesota National Guard are currently serving admirably at home and abroad. In the post 9/11 world, your National Guard is answering the call and serves in support of their state and country.
Right now units from the National Guard are serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the world. It is my number one priority to ensure these units are supported. That means fully equipped, manned, and trained for their federal and state missions.
The Minnesota National Guard continues to transform into a more mobile and expeditionary force. Our units have undergone both equipment and human resource changes. Units across the state in 63 different communities have improved combat vehicles, modern airframes, next generation communications equipment, and the training to employ these modern assets.
To ensure the maximum readiness of our Army and Air National Guard Forces, we have recruited bright and committed Minnesotans. The Minnesota National Guard has the distinct honor of having among the best recruitment of any state in the nation. We appreciate and thrive on the support from citizen Soldiers and their family and friends that bolster them.
Since 9/11, the Minnesota National Guard has mobilized more than 11,000 Soldiers and Airmen in support of the Global War on Terror and state support operations. In the years since the War on Terror began, citizen Soldiers have served in 33 different countries, as well as multiple disaster relief and homeland security missions.
On behalf of all Soldiers and Airmen serving in the Northstar State, I pledge that I will work diligently to provide the best trained, equipped, and manned force for the state of Minnesota. I ask all Minnesotans to keep the deployed Minnesotans in their thoughts and continue to support our fine forces here at home.
